After 60 hours I finally finished FFXII. I would have to rate as the best FF game since Tactics, though since they are of different styles I will not attempt to rank the two. However disaster struck when having pwnzord Vayne's final (some mechanical bahumat thing) form my PS2 decided that it would be a good time to stop reading the disk. Anyway I brought my memory card with me (along with a guitar hero controller) so hopefully I can beat him again and watch the ending sequence.

I have left my mountain lair and retreated to relative oxygenatedness of my Aunt's house. Unfortuanatly I think I may have left my ninja mask and dvd set of Pinky and the Brain there...oh well. Dring down was fun in that I didn't have the traction to drive up hill, luckily I never had to. (this is not actually true, I have chains but I didn't feel the need to put them on) And to those who are intested I can use the house over Spring Break, that is assuming the roads are clear enough to get to it (which they will be unless it snowed 2 feet or so that day)

Weather permitting I should be back at Reed late Friday. Fear my wrath.

I have decided to make an airship. What I am currently thinking of is a hybrid blimp/plane that would allow for the low speed cruising and landing of a blimp with the smaller size of a plane. (needless to say it would be quite large and costly but I think I could manage it in the next 20 years or so)

There has been about 4 feet of snow over the past week and that has "forced" me to stay inside and play FFXII. My current desire to make an airship may be related to that game. I am thoroughly enjoying the game in its difficulty, something previous FF titles have been lacking, but at the same time I find that the game requires level / money grinding, which I find to be a waste of time. Well I have 4 days left to finish the game, and I think I am most of the way through it. Though lacking a guide I am not sure.

I have been shut inside my lair for the past two days due to a massive amount of snow (3 feet). Therefore I haven't done that much other than Star Ocean. Star Ocean has a really lame plot twist that would not be as lame if it wasn't for the matrix. Yet it is lame in an amusing sort of way. Star Ocean also wins in the how much damage can the bad guy do before you take him down catagory of any game I have yet seen.

Also...

I'm downloading the season 3.0 finale of BSG in shifts because I'm not at the library long enough at a time to get the whole thing at once.

Also my lair has a hot tub, but I'll need to dig it out before I can use it.

I have settled into my secret mountain lair, pictures of which will appear on facebook shortly. Despite a lack of internet it has 2 tvs (one of which is a nice 37") and currently a PS2. It does have really nice views.

I have started playing Star Ocean. It is a good game as far as I can tell thus far, the battle system is great but the voice overs leave something to be desired (emotion). Also Nel is hot (Ninja mage!). And getting 3 games for under $40 was a good deal. (the other two were Simpsons Hit and Run, and Return of the King)

I also got the most amazing hat ever, pictures of which should be up next time I get around to it. My ninja outfit is complete. I don't know that I'll be able to post again anytime soon as there is 2 feet of snow expected tonight.

Driving in winter is so much different from driving in summer in that first it is cold, and second it is dark. Not to state the obvious but these things have a great effect on a road trip. For one since it is cold I didn't have much inclination to stop get out of the car and take pictures, and as such I have none to speak of yet. Second because it gets dark so early you find yourself thinking about finding a hotel, and then looking at the clock to find it is only 4:30 pm. But then again driving 65 miles an hour down a 7% grade, at night, with lots of curves is loads of fun, if only it was snowing too...

Also I find Utah incredibly disturbing. As soon as you enter the state there is this vibe that you have just entered another country. The ports of entry (which are called weigh stations everywhere else) have a police state air about them, and the rest of the state reeks of Mormon. Not that I have anything against individual mormons, but a whole state of them with laws that reflect them is very creepy. Not that I would be drinking at any point on this trip, but the knowledge that to do so would be complicated by certain laws was unsettling. Then there is Southern Utah, in winter. Southern Utah in summer is a hot desolate wasteland where nothing lives and gas costs 30 cents more per gallon then elsewhere in the state. Southern Utah in winter is a cold desolate wasteland where I don't have to pay for gas because I remembered to come in with a full tank. (though that had more to do with fears of getting stuck on route 6 somewhere in bum-fuck nowhere with nothing to eat but passing motorists, wait thats the donner pass I am thinking of, that will come on the way back...possibly) Anyway Southern Utah in winter is like mars, only with less life and maybe colder.

Also those crushed gatorade containers I had in my car uncrushed themselves when I got into Colorado.

There is something calming about walking in the rain at night. Yes it is cold, and yes it is wet, but the way that it silences the rest of the world, both by driving it inside and through the damping nature of the rain itself.

While this can be used for angsty musings and such, and believe me I can out angst anyone, except maybe Shinji or Luc, maybe. Instead I will use this for other things...things like, actually I have no clue what I'm going to use this for. Probably flame wars with the few friends I have on LJ.
